Description
We invite you to get acquainted with the history of the town of Šilutė, the start of its founding, and the challenges endured and the unity of its people.
On arrival to the Manor House and Museum of Hugo Scheu, you will familiarise yourself with the home and expositions of the patron of Šilutė. After the museum, you will visit the Evangelical Lutheran Church that is located in the centre and the Church of the Holy Cross, a Catholic church, located at the edge of the town. You will have a chance to ‘feel like a prisoner’ in the former prison of the city, where not only criminals but also political prisoners were kept, as well as to experience the atmosphere in the preserved solitary confinement cell of the Macikai concentration camp. And, for those who wish so, we can also organise a theatrical staging at that cell to give you a more detailed understanding of that time.
The price includes services of a guide.
